Pyramid TRUJILLO — CHAN CHAN

Trujillo, with its marked colonial architecture, this spring-like city offers the tourist good weather, pleasant food, a beautiful Plaza de Armas surrounded by old mansions from the viceroy era; such as the Casa de Urquia, Casa del Marquez de Herrera and Valle Hermoso, etc....all of which are beautiful exponents of viceroy architecture, complemented by plazas, groves and churches from the same era, which can be visited on a tour lasting hours.

Trujillo has not only become the "Respite of Travelers", but the "Cultural Capital of Peru". It is enough to mention that Trujillo is well known for its famous "Caballos de Paso" (typical Peruvian Pace Horse) competition.

Trujillo has a Spring climate without marked extremes of hot or cold. During the summer (December-March) the main temperature is 24 degrees Celsius. The rest of the year is moderately temperate with sunny days.

Only a few kilometers of this city is Chan Chan, the biggest citadel made out of adobe in the world and The Witch (El Brujo) in Magdalena de Cao. Facing time (approx. 1,000 years old), the climate and the destruction of man, you will appreciate this fabuluos mud Fortress, which was the capital of the Chimu Culture. It displays an impressive architectural work of art by its magnitude and surprising by its profuse decoration. You will also see the Templo del Arco Iris or Huaca del Dragon, each with its museum.
