Machu Picchu, called the Lost City of the Incas, can be reached by either train or helicopter. However, the most impressive way to approach it is on foot, as the Incas did. Reaching crests along the Inca Trail reveals views of snow-capped peaks. Descending to the jungle, the trail becomes a leafy tunnel as you travel through luxuriant tropical greenery. Climbing the last rock stairway to Inti Punku, you see spread out before you the splendor of the Inca Empire "Machu Picchu".
