Chiclayo, a city bustling with trade, is the jumping off point for the archeological zone of Huaca Rajada, the tomb of the Lord of Sipan, and the Valley of the Pyramids. The Lord of Sipan, half god, half man, was the Lord over the lords of his time in the Kingdom of Sipan, located in this beautiful valley in the desert. Peruvian archeologists
saw the need to preserve his culture in this land of great temples and pyramids.
Excavations have uncovered objects of gold, silver and cooper, remains of
his clothing and personal objects of great value.
